Except that the Shangri-La leaves with a handicap… The Shangri-La is magnificent, but it is a little out of the way. Foreign tourists like to be in the heart of the city and go to the chic shops on foot. Avenue d’Iéna is a bit far from the legendary Champs-Elysées or Place Vendôme. The neighborhood is residential. A little too quiet… “It’s true, we don’t have Avenue Montaigne at our feet, agrees the hotel’s head concierge. But our cultural environment is exceptional, with the Guimet museum, the Galliera Museum, the Palais de Tokyo or the Musée de l’Homme. We are in a more confidential Paris, which we will be happy to show our customers.”

One-on-one with the Eiffel Tower

Shangri La suites and terraces are perfect for small intimate weddings and proposals.

One hundred and nineteen years later, this noble residence now contains (after four years of labors of Hercules) 54 rooms and 27 suites, most of which have a magnificent view of the Seine. Inflation having done its work, in more than a century, the price of the room starts at 750 euros. The three most expensive suites range between 9,000 and 18,000 euros per night! With special attention: many bathtubs have been oriented in such a way as to offer a moving one-on-one with the old iron lady. Finally, for those who have the desire and the means – 25,000 euros per night -, you can privatize the entire 7th floor and have a 500 square meter apartment, including 4 bedrooms and several terraces. 370 employees will watch over the days and nights of hotel guests.

One  night  at  24,000 euros

In the blue and gray Imperial suite (opposite), there is a canopy. Like the others, it is lined with late 19th century fabrics, reissued by the Pierre Frey and Lelièvre houses.

Our favorite remains the Panoramic Suite on the roof, more modern and at the forefront of Paris. Thanks to the 14 meters of bay window, you think you are touching the Eiffel Tower.

Far from the business centers, of course, but a stone’s throw from the myth.
