A Four-Day Luxury Indian Wedding Celebration Near Paris
When Tvisha and Daniel began planning their wedding, they envisioned far more than a traditional celebration. Their dream was to bring together their Indian heritage, American upbringing, and love of France in a way that would create an unforgettable experience for every guest.
The festivities began in Paris with a private welcome cruise on the Seine. As guests enjoyed French champagne, signature cocktails, and breathtaking views of the city’s iconic landmarks, the Eiffel Tower sparkled in the distance, creating the perfect introduction to the wedding weekend.
The celebrations continued at the magnificent Château d’Ermenonville, where family and friends gathered for the couple’s pre-wedding festivities. Surrounded by lakes, gardens, and historic architecture, guests experienced the warmth and joy that make Indian weddings so unique.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the Sangeet celebration. Filled with music, dance performances, laughter, and emotional speeches, the evening brought together both families and cultures in a vibrant atmosphere inspired by Bollywood glamour.
The wedding day took place at the prestigious Château de Ferrières, one of France’s most remarkable château wedding venues. The grandeur of the château’s interiors created the perfect backdrop for a ceremony that blended Hindu traditions with Christian elements in a deeply personal and meaningful way.
The design featured luxurious red and pink floral arrangements, elegant French-inspired tablescapes, candlelight, fine wines, and exquisite gastronomy. Every detail reflected the couple’s desire to create a celebration that felt both intimate and spectacular.
The evening concluded with an unforgettable reception surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Couple’s Story
Despite growing up less than five miles apart in the United States, Tvisha and Daniel met completely by chance in 2019.
Their story began with a playful disagreement on Tinder about Duke University basketball. What started as a friendly debate quickly led to their first date in Maryland, where they spent hours talking and discovering an immediate connection.
Over the following years, they built a life together between New York and Chicago, learning to embrace their differences while creating a strong partnership. Tvisha, originally from Hyderabad, India, and Daniel, from the United States, found joy in exploring each other’s cultures, travelling together, and building a future that celebrated both of their backgrounds.
After six years together, Daniel proposed in Brooklyn Bridge Park overlooking the East River in New York City. Following a family lunch, he surprised Tvisha with a romantic proposal and an engagement celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Their engagement became a beautiful cultural journey. Daniel travelled to India with Tvisha’s family, discovering her roots in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad while beginning to learn Telugu to better connect with her family and heritage.
When it came time to choose a wedding destination, France felt like the perfect choice. Paris had always been special to them, and Tvisha had dreamed of a fairytale château wedding since childhood. Combining French elegance with Indian traditions became the foundation of the extraordinary celebration they created together.
Indian Wedding Traditions Celebrated in France
One of the most beautiful aspects of Tvisha and Daniel’s wedding was the way they honored Indian traditions while embracing the elegance of a French château celebration.
Their four-day wedding experience included many of the most cherished South Asian wedding traditions, allowing guests from different cultures to discover the richness and symbolism behind each moment.
Mehndi Ceremony
The Mehndi ceremony marks the beginning of the wedding celebrations. Intricate henna designs are applied to the bride’s hands and feet while family and friends gather to celebrate with music, laughter, and traditional rituals.
Haldi Ceremony
During the Haldi ceremony, a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom as a symbol of purification, blessings, and prosperity before marriage.
Sangeet Celebration
The Sangeet is one of the most anticipated events of an Indian wedding. Family members and friends perform choreographed dances, share stories, and celebrate the union of two families in a joyful atmosphere filled with music and emotion.
Baraat Procession
The Baraat marks the groom’s grand arrival before the ceremony. Accompanied by music, dancing, and celebration, it symbolizes the beginning of the wedding festivities.
Varmala Ceremony
The exchange of floral garlands represents mutual acceptance and respect between the bride and groom and is one of the most iconic moments of a Hindu wedding.
Mangalsutra & Sacred Rituals
During the ceremony, Daniel tied the Mangalsutra around Tvisha’s neck and participated in traditional rituals that symbolized their commitment and lifelong union.
By combining these Indian traditions with the timeless elegance of Château de Ferrières and Château d’Ermenonville, the couple created a truly unique luxury destination wedding experience in France.
